Legal Reforms

Advocating for Legal Reform to Benefit Colorado’s Future

At George Mumma HD25 Legal Advocacy, we understand the need for a stable foundation in law and order for economic growth and security for the future of our neighbors across Colorado House District 25. As the coordinated campaign organization for George B. Mumma Jr., we work to bring about substantive legal reforms that empower citizens, encourage fiscal responsibility, and expand educational freedom. A lifetime of service to the community, an extensive career in law enforcement, and years of legal counsel uniquely qualify George Mumma to provide the legislative leadership needed to deliver meaningful solutions based on transparency, balance, and a respect for statutory rule of law.

Legal Reform and Lower Taxes Go Hand in Hand

One of the pillars of George Mumma’s platform is a strong commitment to lowering taxes for Colorado families and businesses. Excessive taxation restricts working families while stifling innovation, reducing job creation, and leaving less available for critical community programs. Yet, George Mumma knows that any legal reform starts with an honest review of how our laws are used against taxpayers.

George supports systematic evaluations and simplification of tax codes, elimination of redundant or outdated taxes, and statutory protections so the public can scrutinize and the legislature can review tax hikes. In addition to lower taxes, George will bring back fiscal responsibility, foster entrepreneurship, and return hard-earned money to Coloradans, allowing them to save for their future, their business, and their local communities.

Expanding Educational Options: Parents and Students as Legal Customers

Education is the key to opportunity, and Candidate George Mumma focuses his legal approach to achieving opportunity on educational choice and parental control. With that focus, he’s dedicated to ensuring that every family has the legal right to choose whether their children are educated through the public school system, or through charter, private, or home school.

How will he do it? By supporting laws that preserve and expand existing legal rights for parents to control their child’s education, back open enrollment policies, support vouchers and scholarship tax credits, and remove barriers to parental access (or involvement) in the school system or alternative modes of education. By fighting for academic-driven reforms and increased legal options, Candidate George Mumma can ensure that every child who lives in District 25 is educated according to his or her talents and dreams.

Cutting Government Spending Through Legal Reform

Legal changes are necessary not only to cut taxes, but also to make sure that taxpayers’ money is being put to good use, with open access and accountability to the public. George Mumma supports legislation that mandates rigorous audits of state programs, holds strict spending limits, and has specific measurement criteria for determining the effectiveness of government spending and programs. By advocating for the passage of laws that establish financial accountability and eliminate wasteful spending, George will fight to reduce the size and scope of government without cutting core services. His policy for fiscal stewardship places a premium on responsible use of taxpayers’ dollars, assigning priority to core government functions and reallocating funding to those who directly serve the people – like public safety and education.

Community Voices Earned Through Legal Advocacy

Successful legal reform starts with listening to the people it impacts most. George Mumma HD25 Legal Advocacy believes in establishing open lines of communication between constituents and their lawmakers. Through ongoing town hall meetings, legal forums, and policy conversations, George hears directly from District 25 residents and utilizes their feedback to inform his advocacy agenda.

The campaign is committed to providing a number of ways for community members to stay up-to-date and involved, including through a legal advocacy newsletter, social media, and direct contact via phone or email. George’s campaign philosophy is that lasting legal reform can only come through the lens of Colorado families’ day-to-day realities, and that all voices must be welcomed and heard.

Proven Leadership and Collaborative Approach

George B. Mumma Jr. has extensive law-enforcement advocacy experience. An Eagle Scout, member of the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol, founder of the Jefferson County, Colorado Juvenile Assessment Center, and a former Chief of Police for the Town of Morrison, George has dedicated his life to public service and multi-stakeholder collaboration. George’s background in youth outreach (including work with troubled teens), law enforcement, and municipal governance provides an invaluable combination of skills and experiences at the crossroads of law, public policy, and the legal needs of Coloradans.

He will bring a collaborative approach: listening to all stakeholders and providing transparency. He seeks to build consensus on complex issues necessary for effective and lasting legal and public policy reforms in the State House.
